Apple cider vinegar, otherwise known as cider vinegar or ACV, is a type of vinegar made from cider or apple must and has a pale to medium amber color. It is made by crushing apples and squeezing out the liquid.

1. ACV keeps fruit flies away

Yes you read it right. ACV really keeps fruit flies away. To get rid of fruit flies try adding three drops of dish soap to a bowl of ACV, and leave it uncovered. This flies can’t resist the scent of vinegar, and they won’t be able to exit once they’re inside. The soap cuts the surface tension of the vinegar so the flies will sink and drown. It is the best and smart way which works pretty well in getting rid of this unwanted fruit flies. I swear by this method it really works like wonders.

2. ACV as a toner for your face

We spend thousands of rupees in buying the best Cleanser, Toner, and Moisturiser (CTM). Sometimes it does help us get that fair and lovely glow, But many times such products fail, and hence we end up with vulnerable skin issues. If you have ACV at home then you need not worry it is indeed the best toner. After washing your face with your favourite cleanser or face wash and before applying moisturiser, You should apply ACV toner so what you have to do is  you just have to add little ACV in a bowl with water and dip a cotton ball in it, and finally dab this cotton ball all over your face and neck. It prevents ageing and is a natural remedy to cure acne and scars. As ACV is antibacterial it exfoliates the skin and tighten pores.

3. ACV cures sore throat

Having a sore throat is very painful. We usually end up gargling with salt water, but wait! Here is another remedy to cure sore throat. Just gargle with warm water adding little ACV in it. It will heal your sore throat and You will feel better.

4. ACV controls dandruff 

Dandruff is just so annoying it leaves your scalp and hair dry, itchy, dull, and lifeless. Worst of all, it leaves behind embarrassing white flakes. When skin cells on the scalp are renewed, old cells flake off. ACV helps to restore the proper acid/alkaline balance of the scalp, and it helps the scalp maintain a healthy pH balance.

Use a cotton ball to apply apple cider vinegar directly to the scalp. Massage gently for few minutes. Wrap hair in warm towel to open pores and allow ACV to soak into scalp. Leave it for one hour, then rinse with water. Do not shampoo after applying ACV. Repeat twice weekly for a month.

You can even dilute one tablespoon of ACV with one cup of water and use it as a last rinse for your hair to keep your hair smooth and Shiney. It works as a great conditioner as well.

5. ACV as a natural teeth whitener

The pH level of ACV can naturally whiten your teeth and it removes teeth stains. Just dip your finger in ACV and rub it on your teeth for a minute or two and repeat it twice a week to notice changes.

ACV is full of all the essential nutrients. We should make a habit of having it daily with water. It helps in burning fat/loosing weight as well and in detoxification of body. It’s the simplest infused water of all. People who have acid reflux should have 1 tablespoon of ACV mixed with one cup of water everyday before meals.

7. ACV regulates pH levels

It contains acetic acid which is more acidic in nature but has more alkaline effect on the rest of our body. So balancing the pH levels of body is vey important as it can reduce risk of chronic diseases and help boost our energy.

The minerals in ACV like potassium can help reduce swelling and inflammation and can cure poison ivy. It is a poisonous Asian and North American flowering plant that is well known for causing an itching, irritating, allergic and sometimes painful rash in most people who touch it so having a glass of water mixed with ACV can help remove toxins out of your skin thus helping poison ivy heal more quickly.

12. ACV kills fungus on toes and skin

The anti-bacterial and anti-fungal compounds in ACV make it a great natural remedy to cure skin and toenail fungus. Simply rub ACV on effected area two times daily.
