Cabbage is my favourite vegetable, cabbage stir fry is the only dish I know other than using cabbage in salads and pakoras.
One serving or one cup of cabbage provides a person with 91.7 percent of the daily required value of Vitamin K and 50.3 percent of the daily required value of the Vitamin C. Vitamin B6, manganese, folate, vitamin B2 and B1, potassium, calcium, magnesium and Vitamin A are abundantly found in cabbage.
I try and make different versions of stir fry cabbage every time. But, I’ll share the recipe of the most liked one. It is Infact the easiest.
So here you go…
You will need;
1 small cabbage shredded
1 small onion
1 small tomato
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
Few curry leaves
2 tablespoons of Oil
Salt as per taste
1/2 cup water
Maggie masala (optional)
Grated coconut (optional)
Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan.
Saute mustard seeds till it splutter, add curry leaves.
Next add thinly sliced onion, fry it till golden brown.
Now add chopped tomatoes.
Let it become soft.
In the meantime, wash the sliced cabbage properly and put it in a pan.
Toss and fry it nicely, till everything is properly mixed.
Keep stirring it or else it will burn.
Add more oil if necessary
Now add little water, coconut if you want.
Let it cook well. You can close the lid, but keep checking it every now and then.
Once cooked you can garnish it with coriander leaves.
Tan tanaan, easy peesy stir fry cabbage recipe is ready.
It makes a perfect combination with rice and dal or with rice and fish/prawn curry.
