Hi, I am back again, this time with my favourite cuisine. Yes, Goan cuisine it is. Being a Goan, fish is something we relish and never get bored of eating it. During the rainy seasons when there is a shortage of fish, we still have dry fish and shrimps available in the market anywhere in Goa (west of India), so you see we seriously can’t live without fish.
So, this time while coming back from Goa my in-laws packed some fresh fishes for me so that we can have it atleast for a week or so, there is really nothing like the fish we get in Goa. If you keep cleaned and well packed fish in the freezer it will remain fresh for atleast 10 days.
Let’s go through my recipe of prawn/shrimps and drumstick curry:
Prawns/shrimps – 100 grams
Drumstick- 2 sticks
1/2 cup coconut grated
6 Red dry chillies
5 garlic pods
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 tablespoon coriander seeds
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Tamarind paste – optional
Grind the ingredients into fine paste mentioned above in “masala Ingredients” with water checking the consistency as needed.
Put water in a wok and add chopped onion and tomatoes with salt.
Allow it to boil
Now, add prawns and drumsticks, let it simmer for 2 minutes.
Now, add the masala paste.
Add water as much needed.
Let it cook for a while until prawns and drumstick becomes tender.
Close the lid and keep checking.
If you want to add raw mango, you can add now(cut it into thin slices), or, you can add tamarind. That’s it.
Garnish it with coriander leaves.
Serve it with plain steamed rice.
Slurrpppp, you will simply love this delicacy.
